About

For over 48 years, Doc's Ski Haus has been outfitting California skiers and for high-mountain fun. Much has changed over the years: leather boots with laces gave way to plastic boots with metal buckles and hickory skis with screw-on edges have been replaced by carbon fiber and titanal, but Doc's Ski Haus'  commitment to the sport has remained the same. We carefully test the gear we sell paying close attention to the details. Doc's may be a long distance from the mountain, but the knowledge and selection found here rivals any mountain ski shop you'll find.

More recently, Doc's has adopted our other favorite mountain sport – Fly Fishing. Fun in the mountains isn't limited to the winter, after all.

Whether stepping into skis and tracing a line down the slope or stepping into waders and casting a line in a crystal mountain stream, Doc's Ski Haus is the source for the mountain life.

The Staff

David

David Craycraft
David caught the ski bug when he was just a grom, and has been on the slopes ever since. Over the past 25 years, the sport has taken him all over the world. But even when he's not skiing, he loves studying up on the latest and greatest gear and chatting with the Ski Haus patrons about their latest adventures.

Miller Craycraft
Though he hasn't spent as much time in the snow as the rest of the staff, six-year-old Miller knows his way around the ski slopes and the ski shop. When he's not in school or playing with friends, Miller can often be found entertaining visitors at the shop. He's also the official tester of all of the kid's equipment, and if you ask him for a ski recommendation, he'll let you in on a secret, "The red ones go fast!"

experience is fishing the mouth of the St Lucia estuary in South
Africa, catching blue fish on surface plugs.

Maria also enjoys ice hockey and is learning to golf.

Mark

Mark Dowd
A Hermosa Beach native, Mark's passion for extreme sports is strong. If Mark isn't in the ski shop, he's out on the slope or, in off seasons, he's surfing the California coast. And when he's not living the sport, he's dreaming about it. "I can't remember a time when I didn't have a skiing or surfing dream." Mark has skied for five Warren Miller films and been employed by Snowbird, Kirkwood and Mammoth.
